Become a fully qualified counsellor

This post-graduate qualification provides the next step for people wanting to work as a counsellor in private practice or organisation.

It is a nationally recognised accredited qualification designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills to work as a counsellor providing relationship counselling and family therapy to individuals, couples and families experiencing personal and relationship issues.

Entry requirements

As well as attending a non-competitive interview, to enrol in this course, you’ll need:

  • A Counselling Diploma or higher with 200 hours of appropriate work experience, or
  • An undergraduate degree or higher in Counselling, Psychotherapy, Psychology, Social Work, Social Science or equivalent, or
  • Demonstrated extensive experience in a family counselling environment
